Legacy Systems is Core Underlying Problem in Massive OPM Breach

Mike Levine

You hear a lot these days of the reaction to the OPM hack involving the “Cybersecurity Sprint,” the need for two factor authentication, etc. Yet the outdated legacy systems remain the root cause of much of the underlying vulnerability of both our networks and the data that resides in them. The former CISO of the CIA, Robert Bigman, says in this interview that “Fundamentally, IT and security managers need to rethink the architecture and services they provide and move the bar closer to enforcing broader deeper security.” On Nov. 17-18, you can have an-depth, two day Billington CyberSecurity workshop taught by Mr. Bigman.
